Theresa M. Gamache, 91
BRUNSWICK - Theresa Marie Gamache, age 91, of Pejepscot Terrace, died on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at the Mid Coast Senior Health Center. She was born in Bristol on Oct. 10, 1923, the daughter of Cyrus and Maude Chadwick Morton. Terry attended Bristol schools and was a 1940 graduate of Bristol High School.
For two years during WWII, Terry worked as an electrician and welder at Bath Iron Works, moving to Brunswick in 1946. She then worked as a waitress at the Hotel Eagle and as a stitcher at Textron. She lived in Florida for several years with her sister Iverne before returning to Maine. For 15 years until her retirement, she worked as a financial resource specialist for the State of Maine.
Terry loved to go shopping and was a people person. In retirement, she volunteered her time working for the Good Morning Program with the Brunswick Police Dept. She also was a fantastic cook and shared her creations with her friends and family. She had a spark in her eyes and a smile that lit up a room. Terry was an active member of People's Plus and St. Charles Borromeo Church All Saints Parish.
Surviving is a brother, Roderick Morton and his wife Joyce of Maine and Arizona;a sister-in-law Joan Morton of New York; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Harold Morton and Earl Morton, and three sisters, Iverne Morton, Letha Roth and Bessie Thompson.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, Feb. 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Frank Murray officiating. Spring interment with a celebration of her life will be in New Harbor Cemetery, Bristol. A reception will follow at the Stetson's Funeral Home Family Reception Center. Theresa Marie Gamache, 91, of Brunswick, died Feb. 2 at the Mid Coast Senior Health Center.
