- [S5] Obituary.
Jeannine L. Mainville, age 79, passed away unexpectedly at Lowell General Hospital on January 15, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo Mainville, with whom she had spent many wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Canada on August 2, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Jean-Louis Lechance and Marie (Veilluex) Lachance. Following her education, she became a babysitter for local children full time out of her home. Her greatest passion in life was taking care of others, so it was truly fitting that she made a career of doing so.
Anyone who met Jeannine knew she was a warm and welcoming woman. She constantly went to great lengths to make sure the ones she loved were well taken care of. Her kind and caring ways, paired with her loud and outspoken personality, made her the kind of person you could never forget. In her earlier years, Jeannine enjoyed regularly chatting with her sister in Canada, doing crossword puzzles, and walking along the boulevard here in Lowell. Above all else though, Jeannine loved her family and friends, and took great care to make lasting memories with them.
Surviving Jeannine is her son, Peter Gamache and his wife Marie of Maine, she was also the loving mother to the late Denise Gamache; she also raised Tasha Robinson of Lowell, as if she were her own daughter; Tasha's children, Ace Luna, and Mayah Luna, as well as many other dear relatives and friends.
