Died:
- Robert "Bob" E. Harwood, 58, Grand Rapids, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 1995, in Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids. He was a lifelong resident of Grand Rapids. He served in the Minnesota National Guard for several years. He married Beverly J. Menart on Aug. 31, 1957, in Nashwauk. He worked for the city of Grand Rapids Department of Public Utilities for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was a volunteer driver for the Meals on Wheels program for many years and a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Eagles, both in Grand Rapids. His father, Fred, died previously. He is survived by his wife, Beverly "Bev"; a daughter, Roberta Harwood of White Bear Lake, Minn.; a son, David of Lakefield, Minn.; his mother, Lenora Harwood of Grand Rapids; five sisters, Betty Hertel, Sharon Griener, June Newton and Vyonne Blaine, all of Grand Rapids, and Beverly McNeil of Romeoville, Ill.; three brothers, Richard of Grand Rapids, James of Ball Club and Donald of Ocala, Fla.; and eight grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 until the 11:30 a.m. services Friday in First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Cohasset. Arrangements are by Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids.
