Died:
- David Trettel of Duncanville, Texas passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 64. A rosary will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 7:30 pm in the Brooks Family Chapel at the North Dallas Funeral Home, 2710 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 12:00 pm at St. Andrew Kim Catholic Church at 2019 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Burial will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220.
- David Edward Trettel, 64, of Duncanville, Texas, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Friday, April 8, 2011, surrounded by close friends and family. David was born on Oct. 19, 1946, in Cloquet, Minn., to Edward and June Trettel Sr. David was a graduate of Cloquet Senior High School. He proudly worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) Headquarters in Dallas, Texas, for 23 years until his recent retirement in 2010. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for walleye and crappie fishing, and also deer hunting. He enjoyed amateur radio and wood working in his spare time.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Michael; and his son, David.
David is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kiw Yun of Duncanville; daughter, Tina (Brett) Gibson of Esko, Minn.; step-son, Dok Chung (Jay Hee) Yoon of Korea; brothers, Edward (Sharon) Trettel of Cloquet, Jerome "Bud" (Sherry) Trettel of New Brighton, Minn., and Peter (Rena) Trettel of Cloquet; grandsons, Tyler and Bryan Gibson of Esko; and a granddaughter, Ah Young Yoon of Korea.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Tuesday, April 12, at St. Andrew Kim Catholic Church, 2019 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch, Texas. Burial will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
