Richard J. "Dick" Kleist On Monday, October 10th, Dick passed away unexpectedly at home. He was born in Long Beach, California, April 25, 1940, to Chester F. Kleist, Coxswain U.S. Navy, and Helen Windfaldet Kleist. In 1943 he moved to Washington, via North Dakota, and had resided in the Parkland area since, graduating from Franklin Pierce High School. He was employed by Madsen Electric in Tacoma for over 40 years, retiring as a project manager. Dick was predeceased by son Todd and half-brother Dave Gamache. He is survived by his wife Phyllis and son Brandt. Also surviving Dick are his twin sister, Doris Wheeler ("Stu"), of Graham; brother Fred Kleist (Karen), of Laguna Hills, California, and half-brother Lawrence Gamache, along with extended family, friends, and co-workers. Join the family for a Celebration of Dick's Life on October 29th in the Lodge Room at the Tacoma Elks, 1:00-4:00 p.m. Arrangements by Curnow Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
