Catherine T. Menart
HUTTER - Mass of Christian burial for Catherine T. Menart, 71, of Hutter will be at 10 am Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church in Biwabik, the Rev. James M. Hayden will be celebrant.
Vistiation will be from 6 to 8 pm today with recitation of the rosary at 7:30 pm at the Ziemer-Moeglein Funeral Home in Gilbert. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik. Mrs. Menart died Monday, Dec 29, 1986, at her home.
She was born Nov. 27, 1915 in Gilbert and had lived in the Gilbert-Hutter area all her life. On Nov. 29, 1947, she was married to Louis R. Menart in Gilbert. Mrs. Menart had served ten consecutive terms as Biwabik township clerk from 1964 to 1984. She was also a former secretary in the superintendent's office at the Gilbert High School. She ws a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Biwabik and the Council of Catholic Women, KSKJ Lodge No. 196 and the Gilbert Senior Citizen's Club.
Surviving are her husband, Louis, two sons, Stephen and Michael, both of rural Gilbert,; four daughters, Helen Stimson of Minneapolis, Florence (Peter) Scharber of St. Michael, Minn., Mary Ann (David) Egan of Ham Lake, Minn., and Marjorie (Pearce) Tefft of Fargo, ND; one brother, Martin Ulcher of Duluth; one sister, Mary (Edward) Petrovic of Eveleth; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Josephine Ulcher, and by three brothers, Frank, Paul and Valentine.
