Laurence Fournier (Laurie) June 16, 1939 - October 14, 2020 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Laurie Fournier (née Gamache) on October 14 at the age of 81. Laurie was pre-deceased by her husband Jean and was a loving and devoted mother to Nicole and Patrick. She was known as mommy to her daughter-in-law Yolanda and grandma to 3 grandchildren she adored; Shane, Madison and Faith. One of 12 sisters and 2 brothers, born in Fort Kent, Alberta, she is survived by 6 sisters Eveline, Victoire, Denise, Raymonde (EJ), Yvette, Marie-Line (Denis) and 1 brother Gerard (Wendy), as well as nieces, nephews, and friends. Our mom was gentle, funny and quick witted; loved classic rock and Johnny Cash and attended the Montreal Jazz Fest every year. Even at 81, Laurie was still very active and had more energy than people half her age. A rare form of cancer rapidly took her from us, but it did not take the memories and happiness she brought to our lives. A memorial service in her honour will be held at a later date.
