  [S5] Obituary. EARL VAN WASSENHOVE Obituary VAN WASSENHOVE EARL J. Age 97. Born February 15, 1913, passed away peacefully at St. John Senior Community on October 23, 2010. He leaves behind his brother Leon (Ethelyn) and his four children, Mary Joan (Robert) Denomme, Peggy Habrowski (the late Victor), David (Suzanne) Van Wassenhove, and Charles (Sandy) Van Wassenhove. Loving grandfather to Joseph Denomme, David Denomme, Mark Denomme and Janine Denomme (dec), Michelle and Jeffrey Chevalier, Marla, Beth, Joan, JR, and Mary, Amy, Michael, and Stephen, and their spouses. There are 15 great-grandchildren who mourn his loss, and the love and interest he showed in their lives. Our family gives special thanks to all the wonderful support of the staff of St. John Senior Community and to the special care he received from each of the private care nurses. Earl was the loving husband of Mary Catherine for 55 years, who passed on October 23, 1991, and husband to Uldine for 6 years until her passing in 1998. Funeral will be held Monday 10:00 a.m. at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave. (at Vernier Road) Grosse Pointe Woods, with visitation Sunday 4-9 p.m. with Prayers at 7 p.m. Family will receive friends on Monday one half hour before Funeral.
