Deceased Name: Nina J. LaPlante
TURNERS FALLS -- Nina J. (Brown) Gamache LaPlante, 74, of 50 Turners Falls Road, died Tuesday (7-15-03), at home.
Born in Brownville Junction, Maine, Jan. 17, 1929, she was the daughter of William D. and Eva G. (Anes) Brown. She attended Brownville Junction schools. She had been a resident of Bremerton, Wash., prior to moving back to Turners Falls in 2001. She had lived in Franklin County towns most of her life.
LaPlante was employed by Dodge's Eatery in Bremerton, a business owned by her daughter and son-in-law, Yvette M. and Chris Dodge. Previously, she was employed by Sears & Roebuck for many years.
She was a member of American Legion Post 81 Auxiliary of Greenfield.
She enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles, reading and her computer.
Her first husband, Rene Gamache, died in 1979.
Her second husband, Lewis LaPlante, died in 2001.
Besides her daughter and son-in-law, she leaves a son, Gary A. Gamache and his wife, Darlene, of Greenfield; two other daughters, Paula J. Stone and her husband, George, of Turners Falls, with whom she resided, and Patti R. Andrews and her husband, Kelly, of Lawrence; a brother, Vernon Brown and his wife, Lena, of Bernardston; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Two sons predeceased her -- Peter A. Gamache in 1983 and David L. Gamache in 1966.
Services will be private. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
