- Donna Mae Gamache (Leach)

Donna Mae Leach was born in Lisbon, ND to Gertrude Jorgenson Leach and Perry Leach. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married.
She was joined in marriage to Laurel Robert Gamache on August 15, 1959. In 1962, after his 4-year Navy discharge they moved to Williston where their first child David was born. They then moved to Buena Park, California and had their second son Scott on December 28, 1966. They later returned to Williston and completed their family with the birth of their only daughter Jol?ee, in January 1970 followed by James in December 1970.
Donna served as a Boy Scout leader for several years in Lisbon, as well as treasurer for Girl Scouts. She received the Distinguished Service Award from Lisbon C&C in 1999. Years later she became an Honorary Lifetime member of Lisbon C&C. She was also honored to receive the E.C. Lucas award. She helped with the local food pantry, American Legion member and attended Trinity Bible study.
Together they owned and operated an accounting office, worked in the city auditor?s office and ran a hotel. Thanks to Pat and Sue, they later moved the office to the Richling house on Main Street.
She is survived by sons Scott and James (Bonita, daughter Jordyn, significant other Gus and daughter Laramie) Fargo, ND; daughter Jol'ee her daughter Emma Jo Nelson (Lance- daughter Denleigh Rae, and Aubrey) Sisseton, SD; David's children: Jon, daughters Azara and Harper, daughter Kimberly (Chad) and great-grandson Vincent all from Sioux Falls , SD.
?I love them now and forever. Death may be sorrow, but we will meet again. Keep friends as they are precious.? Her mother always said- keep clean, always have an open door for coffee- it could be Jesus.
Donna is preceded in death by husband Laurel (of almost 60 years in 2015); son David (2025); brother Gary and Joyce Leach; niece Tammy Leach; sister Eileen and Jack Lillis; sister Marion and Jesse Paulson; nephew Mark Paulson; brother-in-law Clair Gamache; sisters-in-law Joanne Gamache, Shirley Loutherback and Rose Gamache.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 10:00 a.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Lisbon. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery near Lisbon. Donna?s service will be live streamed below.
