Rob was definitely a man of service. He served his community as a Correctional Officer, at the Fort Saskatchewan Correction Centre, for over 30 years, and as a part-time Firefighter, with the Fort Saskatchewan Fire Department, for 30 years, retiring in February 2020. Rob loved nature and the outdoors. We enjoyed camping in the summer, and he enjoyed going quadding and fishing with his buddies, at least once a year. Early on in our retirement, we were able to take two fabulous vacations, one through the Panama Canal, and one to Maui. His dream vacation was to go on an Alaskan cruise, but we had to cancel due to Covid in May 2020. Rob was a wonderful father, husband, uncle, great-uncle, and friend to so many. He was always ready to give anyone a helping hand, and never expected anything in return. He will be remembered for his love of children, begging to be "Santa" at Christmas time, his good nature, and sense of humour.
He will be dearly missed by his soulmate, and best friend of 37 years, Lynne. His sons, Daniel, and Adam, who respected and admired their dad, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions in Rob's memory, may be made to Inclusion Alberta, as our family's charity of choice. (https://inclusionalberta.org/donate/)
