John Pyzocha, 88, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 24 with his loving family by his side. Born in Ware, MA on July 9, 1926, he was the son of John and Tekla Pyzocha. John has resided in the Palmer area his entire life and was a communicant of St. Thomas Church. He proudly served his country during WWII in the US Navy. He was employed for many years at the former Chapman Valve in Indian Orchard and also worked for many years at Noga's Turkey Farm. John loved and took great pride in tending his lawn and garden. He also enjoyed watching baseball and playing his daily lottery numbers and will be remembered for his kind nature and enjoyment of cooking. He will be forever missed by his wife of 40 years, Rita (Griffin) Pyzocha, and his children, John Jr. and his wife Sylvia of Palmer, Karen Brown and her husband James of East Longmeadow and Nancy Austin of Belchertown along with his six grandchildren, Michelle Sohn, John and Michael Pyzocha, Jayme Leger, Timothy Brown and Heather Daponde and four great grandchildren, Evan, Matthew, Amber Mae and Raeanne. His sister, Stephanie Gamache of Ludlow and many loving nieces, nephews and good friends also survive him. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son Gary and siblings, Mary Pisarski, Sophie Polys and Stanley and Michael Pyzocha. The family gratefully acknowledges the extraordinary care provided by David Hamil and Christine St. Laurent of the Baystate Wing Hospice. Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 30 at 9:00 a.m. from Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
