  Died: James Higgins Obituary STATESVILLE, N.C. - Mr. James Joseph Higgins, 57, died Feb. 4, 2013 unexpectedly at his home. Born in Flint, Mich. on March 17, 1955, he was a son of the late John Joseph Higgins and Gladys Helen Ayars Higgins. Mr. Higgins was the Director of Public Health for the Iredell County Health Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Susan Higgins, in 2003. Survivors include two daughters, Maureen Elizabeth Higgins of Raleigh and Hillary Helen Ruth Higgins, currently a student at Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. Services celebrating Mr. Higgins' life will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Father George Kloster officiating.
