CALUMET - Margaret M. Rowe, 73, a resident of Calumet, passed away May 3, 2005, at Çypress Manor in Hancock where she had been a resident for the past four years. She had been afflicted by Alzheimer's disease for many years. She was born on July 15, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late John and Margaret (LaMutt) Gamache. She graduated from Calumet High School with the Class of 1949 and then attended Suomi College. On April 4,1953, she was married to Dr. Kenneth Rowe.Margaret was an enthusiastic supporter of numerous community activities and organizations but above all else, she was devoted to raising her children and providing a loving home for her family.She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Kenneth Rowe; a son, John; infant twin daughters; and a brother, Rich Gamache.Surviving are a daughter, Karen (Craig) Boggio of Jackson, Wis.; four sons, Vern (Lana) Rowe of Rapid City, Mich., Steven (Stephanie) Rowe of Laurium, David (Mary) Rowe of Dollar Bay, Thomas (Laura) Rowe of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; 11 grandchildren, Crystal Rowe of Fort Collins, Colo., Adrian and Kyle Rowe of Rapid City, Josh and Kourtney Rowe of Wisconsin Rapids, Peter and Sophie Rowe of Laurium, Kenneth John, Sarah and Matthew Rowe of Dollar Bay, David Boggio of Jackson, Wis.; a great-grandson, Andrew Meick of Fort Collins, Colo.; two brothers, Louis Gamache of Highland, Calif., John Gamache of Aloha, Ore.; three sisters, Jackie (Paul) Welch of Vancouver, Wash., Helen Todd of Highland, Calif., Donna Gamache of Gresham, Ore; a sister-in-law, Elsie Rowe of Laurium; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet on Thursday, May 5, 2005, from 6 to 9 p.m. or at www.ericksoncrowley.com. Private family funeral services will be held in the Erickson Crowley Funeral Home Friday with Rev. Peter Vorhes to officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church of Calumet, Cypress Manor of Hancock, a local Alzheimer's support group, or Alzheimer's research.
