PORT ORANGE, FL -- Lorraine (Melanson) Tellier, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.
She was born in Leominster, MA to the late Joseph and Adele (Leblanc) Melanson.
Lorraine is survived by her husband of 65 years, Francis E. Tellier; her four children: Steven Tellier of Leominster, MA; Susan Gamache and her husband, Roger of Sutton, MA; Jane Fischer and her husband, Kevin of Port Orange, FL with whom she lived; and Peter Tellier and his wife, Carmen of Plymouth, MA; eight grandchildren, Amy Vitner, Kerry Perri, Jennifer Marcoux, Roger Gamache, Carl Gamache, Caitlin Fischer, Jonathan Tellier, and Kelly Tellier; and eight great-grandchildren. She leaves one sister, Pauline Cherry of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
She was predeceased by seven sisters: Margaret Tornoos; Edna Carignan; Alice Mercier; Doris Wheeler; Cecile Beaulac; Evelyn Leblanc; Tina Clark, and four brothers: Arthur, Edward, Alfred and Edmund Melanson.
Retiring from Foster Grant, she and her husband made their home in Port Orange, FL for the last 30 years. Always athletic, Lorraine became an avid golfer and enjoyed the game tremendously. She had been a member of Westminster C.C. and Daytona Beach G.C. She loved coming back to Leominster each year to spend time with family and enjoyed many summers up on Lake Winnipesaukee. She also took great pleasure in playing cards, going to the casino and bingo.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date at the convenience of her family.
