  [S5] Obituary. Raymond A. Aucoin 1924 2012 CHICOPEE - Raymond A. Aucoin, age 88, passed away on Oct 26, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Feb 29, 1924 in Chicopee to the late Nazaire and Rosilda ( St Amand) Aucoin. He has been a resident of Chicopee his whole life. He was a communicant of the former Assumption Church. Raymond worked for 45 years at Moore Drop Forge before retiring in 1985. He enjoyed gardening and loved animals. He leaves his loving wife of 62 years Rita (Gamache) Aucoin of Chicopee; one son Norman and his wife Josephine of Granby; two daughters Liza Mitchell of Ludlow and Diane Bourdeau and her husband Bob of Chicopee; one brother Dr Jean Paul Aucoin and his wife Joan of Chatham; one sister Doris Wallace; five grandchildren Angie, Greg, Renee, Stephanie, Krista and Erika; also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother Rosaire Aucoin. The family would like to give a special thank you to his care givers Pam Cayo and Jen Thibeault for the wonderful job they did. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Nov 3, 2012 at 9:00 AM from the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM at Holy Name Parish in the Assumption Church . Burial will be private. Calling Hours will be held on Friday Nov 2, 2012 from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Raymond's memory to the TJ O'Connor Animal Center 627 Cottage St. Springfield , MA 01104 or to Mercy Hospice 1236 Main St, Holyoke, MA 01040.
