Mrs. Christine Glavich Menart, 741 Main Street, Vandling, died in St. Joseph's Hospital, last Wednesday evening, June 12. She had been in ill health over a prolonged period of time and was admitted to the hospital shortly before she passed away.
Born in Forest City, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Christine Kustoff Glavich. She graduated from Vandling High School in 1923and the Forest City High School in 1925. She was associated with her husband, Frank, in the licensed restaurant business in Vandling. He preceded herin death in 1950. Later, she was a memeber of teh sales staff of the local J.J. Newberry store.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, St. Ann's Society and served as secretary of the Women's Union Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John Sever, Vandling, and Mrs. Alan Winchell, Binghampton; four brothers, Joseph and Albert Glavich, Forest City, William and Frederick Glavich, Vandling, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Saturday from the McGranaghan Funeral Home, 513 Main Street. Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph's Church by the Rev. A.J. Krusinski. Internment was in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
Casketbearers were: Joseph Scepita, Joseph PantRobert Davis, Ignatz Kastellic, Benjamin Pietro, and John Puntar.
