Deceased Name: James R. Burns
James R. Burns, 63, of 16 Melba Drive, Hudson, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Burns was born Aug. 18, 1937, in Somerville, Mass., son of the late James R. and Mildred (Hallette) Burns.
He was the husband of Sandra (Hurd-Gamache) Burns of Hudson.
Mr. Burns had worked as a computer programmer with Fidelity Investments in Marlborough, Mass. Also, he was the owner of Jim Burns Consulting Co.
Mr. Burns was a sports enthusiast and an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Woburn Sportsman's Association, Stoneybrook Gun Club and Line Pine Rod & Gun, and he was a life member of the Amateur Trap Association, N.H. Trap Association, National Rifle Association and the Billerica (Mass.) Elks Lodge.
He was an Air Force veteran and played baseball on the Air Force team while stationed in Germany.
Mr. Burns was predeceased by a son, Jay R. Burns.
Besides his wife, survivors include a son, James A. Burns of Billerica; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Antonio DaCosta of Tewksbury, Mass.; three stepsons, Donald Gamache and Randy Gamache, both of Melbourne, Fla., and Timothy Gamache of Oxford, Maine; three stepdaughters, Juanita Kase of Melbourne, Wanda Aldridge of Orland, Maine, and Pamela Dixon of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia; a grandson, Nicholas DaCosta of Tewksbury; two sisters, Elinor Trottier of Billerica and Edna Burns of Nashua; nine stepgrandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson is in charge of arrangements.
