She was born in Albany, NY on April 21, 1931, the daughter of the late Ernest A. and Mary A. (Modena) Gamache. Her mother died at a young age, and Mary Anne took on the responsibility of helping raise her younger brother, Ernest G. Gamache. She attended North Adams schools, graduating from Drury High School. Mary Anne worked as a clerk in the Cemetery Department office for the City of North Adams until she retired. Earlier, she had worked in the office at James Hunter Machine Co. in North Adams. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, North Adams, and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics. Her husband, Leslie J. Carter, whom she married on October 11, 1975, died on December 30, 2011. She is survived by her sister-in-law Holly M. Gamache of Adams; nephews Kevin Gamache (Shannon) of North Adams, Bart Gamache (Jeanette) of Windsor, and Ernest Gamace, Jr (Kathleen) of Pownal, VT; her niece Annette Czarnecki of Williamstown; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and great grandnieces and grandnephews. Russell was born Nov. 30, 1929, to Alexander and Jesse (Clausen) Thompson in Neche, N.D., where he also attended school. He married Joyce in 1951 where they lived in Oslo, Minn., and Grand Forks, N.D., had four daughters and moved to Beaverton in 1969. He worked as an automotive mechanic for many years and then part-time at Napa Auto Parts in Beaverton until retirement. He was preceded in death by Joyce; his parents; and one brother. 7688	Salome LaBerge was baptised the same day as her birth on the first day of November, 1857 in the 10 year old parish of St-Louis-de-Gonzague. She was the last of 7 children born to her parents, Louis LaBerge (1822-1893) and Henriette Legault dite Deslauriers (1822-1893). Her father farmed land in the Quebec county of Beauharnois, and both her parents lived out their lives in the Province. But her brothers decided to leave the small community to find their fortunes in the United States. Her brother Louis (1846-1917) was the first and became a naturalized citizen in 1865 at East Tawas, Iosco county in Michigan. Her brother James Onesime (1852-1927) followed him in 1867, and brother Noe (1848-1910) in 1887. In St-Louis-de-Gonzague, Salome married her soulmate, Fabien R. Regimbal on January 27, 1875. She was 18 and he was 22; a lifelong friend born in the same village. The couple had 4 children there, Marie Sara 'Sarah' (1875-1913), Louis Fabien (1877-1949), Edmond Francois (1880-1966), and Marie Denise Olivine (1881-1959). Instead of the path of Salome's brothers, her husband Fabien chose to follow his siblings to Minnesota and the family of 6 left the village in 1882. In Gentilly, Minnesota she became mother to Marie Mable Desneige (1883-1969), Francis Xavier (1885-1962), and Joseph Ernest (1887-1965). In Crookston, the family continued to grow with the births of Marie Ann Salome (1889-1963), Joseph Adolphe Clement (1891-1933), Joseph Armand Donat (1893-1928), and Marie Emelie Lorie (1895-1992). In 1897 the family went with others to newly opened farmland in the Yakima Valley of Washington State. She, her husband and 9 children living at home, along with her first born, Sara and her husband Hilaire Fortier, traveled by boxcar in a Northern Pacific train to Yakima, then on to Moxee City to stay with friends until they could find a place to live. Salome and Fabien settled in North Yakima on November 15, 1897 with son Edmond (then 17); daughter Olivine (age 16); daughter Desneige (age 14); son Xavier (age 12); son Ernest (age 10); daughter Salome (age 8); son Clement (age 6) and daughter Lorie (age 2). They moved to Artesian District, 12 miles east of North Yakima, on January 15, 1898, where in September their 12th child, Marie Henriette 'Stella' (1898-?) was born. Son Pierre 'Peter' Aime (1900-1946) was born there too, as well as their last child, daughter Olympe Marie (1902-1989). In 1907, the Regimbals moved a short distance to the new Moxee City (the town was relocated) in Yakima County, Washington. Around 1910, Fabien and Salome moved back to North Yakima after they purchased a grocery store from brothers Fred and Eldege Mailloux. Two of Fabien and Salome's daughters became nuns: Olivine with the Sisters of Providence, and Desneige with the Sisters of Charity of Providence. Their son, Clement was called to the priesthood and was ordained in 1914. In 1913, their daughter Sara died a month after the birth of her daughter Helen. Helen Julia Fortier (1913-1980) was raised by her grandmother, Salome; then by her aunt, Sister Olivine Regimbal. As a young woman, she worked for the deputy prosecutor at the Yakima Courthouse. War in Europe forced the couple to sell their store, when son F. Louis, the manager, and his sales clerk, then 21 year old Avilla Fortier, Fabien & Salome's grandson, my grandfather, were called to duty. 7689	Samuel Gene King (May 11,1940 - October 29, 2013 Samuel Gene King, 73, of Hanover, PA died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. Born May 11, 1940 in Rural Retreat, VA, he was the son of the late Henry Howard King and Lora Leona Parks King Bizich. He was the husband of Mary Jacquelyn Snyder Clifton King, his wife of 20 years, who died in 2001. He was a retired forklift and transporter for General Motors and a groundskeeper at Milldale Jewish Camp for the past 15 years. Surviving are his children Timothy King and wife Debra, Tammy Forbes and husband Fred, Michael King and companion Karen Ferguson, and Michelle King; step daughters Mary Belinda Gamache and Colleen Staley and husband Richard; his sisters Doris Johnson and husband Carl and Joyce Lamie and husband Wayne; his 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Priscilla Bizich. The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester. 7693	Sandra Dawn Chappell Gamache Sandra Dawn Chappell Gamache, mom was raised in Dayton in the Old Chappell homestead. An only child, a daughter was born April 1, 1943 to Donald and Letha Chappel. As did others in her family history, she settled and rooted there in the Dayton-Matlock area she called home. Mom enjoyed most, being barefoot taking full advantage of life in the natural, camping, fishing, etc. She had a huge desire to be carefree and an even greater heart for her critters. When mom loved, she loved deep, loved hard and she loved long, even her lifetime. Mom enjoyed woodcrafts, painting, baking, canning and quilting among other things. 7696	Sarah Bazely was born on 21 Feb 1806 in St. Issey, Cornwall, England. She died on 13 Jun 1890 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Weekly Examiner Peterborough, Ontario, Canada June 13, 1890 After a tedious illness of several months, Mrs. William Wareham died at the family residence on Water Street on June 13th. Mrs. Wareham had been very ill all winter, having been confined to her bed about four months. She suffered much, but she bore her sufferings with patience and resignation to the divine will. The maiden name of the deceased lady was Sarah Bazely, the youngest of six sisters and one brother. These latter are gone the way of all the earth many years ago. She was born in the parish of St. Issey, County of Cornwall, England, on February 21, 1806 and was consequently 84 years of age. On the 21st of March, 1829 she was married to Mr. Wareham. In October 1954 they came to Canada with their children and settled in the township of Smith. On the May following their son John with wife and one child came to Smith to live. John wtih five of his brothers removed to the United States. Twelve years ago Mr. and Mrs. Wareham removed to Peterborough where three of their children also reside, George, Mrs. Shera and Miss Wareham. Mary still resides in Smith with her Husband, Mr. Richard Warem. Mrs. Wareham, the subject of this sketch, was the mother of eleven children, eight sons and three daughters. Two the the children died in infancy. Her married life covered the long space of 61 years, 2 months and 22 days. Mrs. Wareham was a kind wife, a God designed, a true help mate for her husband, a true friend and good neighbor, never known to have a broil or quarrel with any. A short time before her demise Mrs Wareham's last days were cheered by a visit from her sons John and William and Matthew and Richard were at the funeral. Joshua being 3,000 miles away found it impossible to come. Mrs. Wareham leaves behind her numerous descendants, nine children and thirty two grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren in all 58 descendants. The husband and family desire to take this means to thank their kind friends for their many kindnesses, sympathy and help rendered during their resent afflection. 7700	Saul Ziff Marries Pittsburgh Girl Sunday Afternoon PHILIPSBURG - A reception for a large number of relatives and friends was held at the William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh Sunday afternoon following the marriage of Saul Ziff and Ruth Harris of Pittsburgh in the Cardinal Room of the hotel. Rabbi Lichtner of Pittsburgh performed the ceremony at 4:30 Sunday. The bride wore a white satin, floor-length gown and her attendant, Miss Marilyn Frank, work old rose. Morton Stevel of Tyrone was best man. Ushers were Herman and Al Ziff, Philipsburg, brothers of the bridegroom. Following a honeymoon in Florida, the couple will reside in Philipsburg where Mr. Ziff is manager of the Ziff Clothing of the Ziff Store, Front Street.
