She peacefully passed away on May 27, 2025, in Brea, California, at the age of 64. She lived most of her life in Yorba Linda, a community she loved and where she made many lifelong friends. She passed away after a courageous battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare neurological condition that progresses rapidly and currently has no cure. Rita was a truly special soul, known for her unconditional kindness, patience, and warmth. She had a remarkable gift for remembering important details about the people in her life-birthdays, favorite things, and special moments-and she showed her love through thoughtful gifts that made others feel valued and appreciated. Always friendly, inviting, and prepared, Rita was often the one to bring snacks or whatever was needed to make those around her comfortable. Her inner strength and calm presence shone through in everything she did. She could make friends anywhere she went and was always ready to help-whether through a small gesture or simply being present for those in need. To know Rita was to feel seen, loved, and comforted. Rita was a devoted wife to Bill Gamache, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage. She was a loving mother to her daughters, Nicole and Lauren, and a proud grandmother to Emma, who brought immense joy to her life. Rita also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs and cats, and her love for her grandpets was a constant source of happiness. She is survived by her husband, daughters, mother Marian Meo, and her sisters Diane McDonnell and Sharon Hutchins. She was predeceased by her father, William Meo. For 26 years, Rita dedicated herself to the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District, serving in several roles over the years, including as a Resource Specialist Aide (RSP) and Expanded Learning Aide. Rita helped shape the lives of countless students with her steady presence, compassion, and belief in their potential-leaving a lasting impact on those she worked with. Beyond her work, she was an active member of the community, volunteering when she could and always eager to lend a helping hand. From an early age, Rita's faith was rooted in the Church of Jesus Christ. The church was a foundation of strength, love, and guidance for her, and she lived her life grounded in those principles of faith, service, and compassion. Despite the many challenges life brought, Rita's resilience and love never wavered. She was the heart of her family-a source of strength, kindness, and unwavering support. Her legacy is one of boundless love, quiet generosity, and genuine kindness that touched all who knew her. 7606	Rita Richard, 92, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on August 23, 2025. She was born on November 30, 1932, in Lynn, Massachusetts, to Romeo and Eva Gamache. Rita grew up in Derry, New Hampshire and graduated from Pinkerton Academy with the Class of 1950. On June 30, 1951, she married Gerard Dionne in Derry, New Hampshire, and together they began building a life full of love, family, and shared memories. Gerry passed away in 1977, and Rita married Joseph Presley Richard on December 23, 1988. Rita and Presley enjoyed many years of cruising and traveling to Europe and beyond. In her younger years, she was an active Girl Scout leader, generously giving her time and talents to inspire and guide others. Throughout her life, she nurtured a love for knitting and sewing, often creating beautiful handmade pieces that reflected her creativity and care. Strong and independent, Rita was a woman who embraced life with joy and adventure. She enjoyed traveling to visit her children and grandchildren whether they be in Europe, Florida, Texas, or Maine. She made lifelong memories and friendships. Known for her vibrant social spirit, she cherished playing cards, board games, and connecting with those around her. Rita's leadership extended beyond her personal life as she proudly served as president of the Franco-American Amvets Post 161, where she made a lasting impact. Rita will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and zest for life. Her independence and ability to bring joy to every gathering left a mark on all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her first husband Gerry, second husband Presley, brother Dorell Gamache, brother Roland Gamache, and sister Theresa Laferriere. She is survived by her daughter Susan Russell and husband Ronald of Limington, Maine, son Paul Dionne and wife Suzie of New Braunfels, Texas, son Roger Dionne and wife Julie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and daughter Lorraine Steeves and her fiancé Lloyd Bosworth, of Daytona Beach, Florida, fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones. 7609	Robert "Bob" E. Harwood, 58, Grand Rapids, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 1995, in Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids. He was a lifelong resident of Grand Rapids. He served in the Minnesota National Guard for several years. He married Beverly J. Menart on Aug. 31, 1957, in Nashwauk. He worked for the city of Grand Rapids Department of Public Utilities for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was a volunteer driver for the Meals on Wheels program for many years and a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Eagles, both in Grand Rapids. His father, Fred, died previously. He is survived by his wife, Beverly "Bev"; a daughter, Roberta Harwood of White Bear Lake, Minn.; a son, David of Lakefield, Minn.; his mother, Lenora Harwood of Grand Rapids; five sisters, Betty Hertel, Sharon Griener, June Newton and Vyonne Blaine, all of Grand Rapids, and Beverly McNeil of Romeoville, Ill.; three brothers, Richard of Grand Rapids, James of Ball Club and Donald of Ocala, Fla.; and eight grandchildren. 7610	Robert A. Freiberg, 83, passed away July 11, 2007 at Park View Health Center, where he had been a resident for one month. Bob was born in Oshkosh on March 16, 1924, the son of Edward and Maude (Cronk) Freiberg. He was educated at Trinity Lutheran School and Oshkosh High. Bob married Bernice Frohrib on Oct. 6, 1947 in Oshkosh, and spent the next 10 years living in Redwood City, before returning to Oshkosh in 1957. Bob served in the United States Navy during WWII and then was employed by the postal service until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cribbage and sheepshead. During his life he had been a member of the Lakeshore Club, the Lakers, and Otter Street Fishing Club. He also played baseball for Jerry's Colts during his younger years. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Bob is survived by three children Pam (Steve) Grace of Oshkosh, Jim (Cheryl) Freiberg of St. Killians, Bill (Mari) Freiberg of Cashton, nine grandchildren John Kleinschmit, Alex and Katie Wright all of Oshkosh, Robby, Tommy and Eric Freiberg all of St. Killians, Dana Freiberg of Oconomowoc, Emma Rose and Sam Freiberg of Cashton, three great-grandchildren, (names omitted by contributor) of Oshkosh He is also the step-grandfather of (names omitted) and step great-grandfather to (Names omitted). 7611	Robert A. Young, 88, of Woonsocket, RI passed away peacefully at the Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Providence with family by his side on February 17, 2025. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Raymond and Emeliane (Gamache) Young. He was the loving husband of 56 years to Jeannette (Boulay) Young, He was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired as an executive vice president of Fleet Bank where he worked for 37 years. He was an East Woonsocket little league coach and coached the St. Joseph's CYO baseball. He was an avid golfer and New York Yankees fan. Robert was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Besides his wife, Jeannette, he leaves his two daughters and their husbands, as well as four grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother and his beloved pets Shannon and Duffy. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Young. Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road., North Smithfield. 7612	Robert C. Gamache ?40S, 81, of Leominster, died at home Sunday evening, July 2, after an illness. He was born November 6, 1918, in Leominster, the son of Henry J. and Flora M. Gamache, and had lived here most of his life. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst Stockbridge School of Agriculture in 1940. On Feb. 11, 1941, Mr. Gamache enlisted as a flying cadet in the military. Washed out due to a midair collision, he joined the US Army Air Corps three days later. On Feb. 24, 1944, while on a mission to destroy railroad yards, bridges and airfields in Austria, he was shot down over Steyr, Austria. Five of his 10 crew members died. Lt. Gamache was one of the lucky ones. He jumped from 26,000 feet and when he landed, he was apprehended by two farmers with pitchforks. They turned him over to German authorities. After six days of interrogation, they sent him to the Luftwafe's Stalag Luft I in Barth, Germany, on the Baltic Sea, where he spent the next 518 days as a prisoner of war. Most of his time was spent planning escape routes and twice when Lt. Gamache tried to escape, they captured him. The punishment for attempted escape was solitary confinement- 30 days in a 6-foot by 3-foot room, with a daily menu of two slices of bread and cabbage soup. After the war, he worked as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Leominster for more than 20 years before he retired. He leaves his wife, Helen J. Gamache, whom he married Oct. 4, 1947. He also leaves two daughters, Janice M. and Patricia A. McCray and Tara McCray; and a sister, Doris McCloskey of Indiantown, FL. . . He was born August 19, 1936 in Lilbourn, Missouri, the son of the late Clorene (nee Morris) and Ronald A. Harrison, Sr. He is survived by his wife Joan (nee Koenig) Harrison; children Mary Frances (Ronald) Peppers of St. Charles, Missouri, Susan Harrison of Barnhart, Missouri, Robert Harrison, Jr. of Millstadt, Illinois, Cindy Diaz of Festus and Adam (Jay Kish, Jr.) Harrison of Collinsville, Illinois; brothers Ronald A. 7615	ROBERT JAMES DUQUETTE AGE 89 YEARS UNITED STATES ARMY VETERAN Robert James Duquette of Longmeadow, passed away on July 20, 2018. Born and raised in Springfield, he was the son of the late Archie and Helen (Doyle) Duquette and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1947 where he met his future wife, Pat. While at Cathedral, he was also honored to be selected by the Springfield Sunday Republican in 1946 as the starting centerfielder for the High School All-City team. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Seoul, South Korea during the Korean War. When he returned home from military service, he was hired by the Springfield Parks and Recreation Department where he worked for 39 years. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Patricia M. (Winters) Duquette, and three sons: Robert J. Jr. of North Attleborough, Timothy J. of Longmeadow, and Dennis P. of Springfield. He leaves five grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He also leaves a sister, Mary Trembley and a brother, William Duquette, both of Springfield. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Duquette and his sister Helen Brown. 7616	Robert L. Lasich, 85, of 232 Schoolcraft Avenue, Manistique, Michigan passed away on December 26, 2012 at the Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique. He was born February 17, 1927 in Manistique, the son of John and Agatha (Korenich) Lasich, Sr. and attended Manistique area schools. During World War II, he served on a destroyer in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre. On April 22, 1950 he married the former Betty Duquette in Manistique. They made their home and raised their family in Manistique. Bob was employed at Manistique Papers, Inc. for many years, retiring as a millwright. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Bob also enjoyed visiting with others and always had a good story. Bob is survived by his wife, Betty Lasich of Manistique; his children, Karen (David) Peterson of Manistique, Bill (Sandy) Lasich of Manistique and Shelly (Scott) Tyler of Marquette; grandchildren, Greg (Jessie), Nick (Ariel), Erin (Justin), Mike (Amy), Jake, Josh and Jordan; seven great grandchildren; three brother-in-laws; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters. 7617	ROBERT L. MUNIZ Oct. 12, 1947 - Jan. 10, 2026 With sadness we announce the passing of Robert L Muniz of Las Vegas. Born in Tucumcari, NM to Joe Frank and Mary Romero Muniz, Robert spent his childhood with a remarkable extended family of parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He graduated from Belmont HS in Los Angeles and went on to serve in the US Army where he was an MP in Korea during the Vietnam Era. Post discharge he returned to New Mexico to care for his mother and younger siblings. He began his college career at age 27 at Idaho State University, where he met his wife, Nancy Sever Muniz. He completed his Bachelor Degree in Social Work and went on to Arizona State University where he earned his MSW. He worked in rehabilitation hospitals in Arizona before returning to Idaho in 1984, where he began a lifelong career as a school social worker. Bob and Nancy married in 1985 and relocated from Idaho to Evanston, Wyoming, then Roswell, NM, and finally, to Las Vegas in 1992. Both enjoyed stellar careers in their fields of public-school social work and speech pathology. Bob took great pride in being the first School Social Worker in Clark County School District and was instrumental in the development of an effective social work program in the District. He demonstrated competence and integrity in helping his students and their families, particularly those of diverse backgrounds. Health issues necessitated Bob's retirement. Robert was predeceased by his parents and siblings Joe Frank, Jo Ann, Ernest and Edward Muniz. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nancy Sever Muniz, Las Vegas, a daughter Stephanee (Spencer) Hopper and three grandchildren (Ava, Dutch, Nolan) of Bartlesville, OK. He is survived by siblings Connie (Ray) Marquez and brother James (Maria Garrett) of Albuquerque, and Jacob Muniz, Guerneville, CA and sister Mary Louise (Jim) Vigil of Fredericksburg, VA. He was Uncle Bobby to many nieces and nephews, and a beloved cousin. Robert was cherished by family, friends and coworkers and known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. 7618	Robert Lee Whitrock, of Shiloh, IL, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, at the age of 47. Beloved husband of Nicki Lutz-Whitrock; cherished son of Betty J. Whitrock and the late Cecil G. Whitrock; son-in-law of Roger Omre and the late Judith Omre; devoted father of Austin Whitrock and Tyler Lutz; dear brother of Regenta Ouellette, Skip and (Tanya) Whitrock, Don Whitrock, and brother-in-law of David Omre; loving uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Rob was a passionate aviation expert who worked at GoJet/ Trans States Airlines (Trans States Holdings, Inc) for nearly 30 years. He began as an apprentice mechanic, and worked his way up through various leadership roles, including Maintenance Planning Manager, Hangar Maintenance Supervisor, Hangar Maintenance Inspector, Heavy Check Supervisor, Heavy Check Manager, Base Aircraft Maintenance Manager in Richmond, VA, and St. Louis, MO. He was the "fix it/do it all" man, overseeing projects from start to finish. In 2024, as the 145 Accountable manager, he successfully achieved managing, coordinating, and working with The Federal Aviation Administration to certificate a new 145 Repair Station for GoJet Airlines. His passing is a huge loss for the aviation community. A true outdoorsman, Rob loved hunting, fishing, commercial fishing, and had his jon boat custom-made that was built for the above mentioned. He enjoyed family game nights, always had a project in the works, and had an uncanny ability to fix anything. His big personality and contagious laugh brought joy to those around him, as he loved sharing stories that made others laugh and smile. He cherished spending time with friends, being on the river, and spending time with his beloved dogs, Ruger and Remi. Rob was incredibly reliable, never turned down a challenge, and was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 7619	Robert Richard "Dick" Trevarthen passed away peacefully at 1 pm, August 17, 2022 with family and friends by his side in Clyde, North Carolina at the age of 89. Born March 8, 1933 in Bessemer City, North Carolina to Robert Richard Trevarthen (1911-1994) and Candance Willodene Froneberger (1914-1994), Dick started playing piano at a young age, graduated from Gastonia High School and Duke University where he played trombone in the marching band and completed his Master's degree in Music at the University of Michigan. He joined the faculty at Western Carolina University where he taught his whole career. Dick was defined by his passion for teaching, composing, arranging and playing music. After graduation from Duke, he toured Europe on a USO tour with the Duke Ambassadors. He is remembered as a stern but engaging professor of music theory at Western Carolina University by his students. Beyond the classroom his accomplishments include writing the WCU fight song, arranging music for high school marching bands who won national competitions, serving as the Director of Bands at WCU, starting the Blue Ridge Big Band, the Smoky Mountain British Brass Band, the Haywood County Arts Council, and numerous music reviews, singing groups and creating and producing theater plays for HART. He was immensely respected by his students and peers for his insightful teaching, his musical analysis, and his love of playing small or large gigs on the piano. With his wife, Ann and his mother-in-law, Madaline Strain Kendrick, Dick shared a special musical relationship throughout his life, as they learned and performed together. Dick loved to travel, and with his wife Ann he explored his ancestral home of Cornwall, England; took in musical history in Vienna, Austria with his dear friends Paul and Ginny Bryan of Duke University; and showed his children Broadway and the joys of New York City. He loved to play tennis, read the New Yorker magazine, and in his retirement years wrote books and analysis related to music. He is survived by his sons Daniel Robert Trevarthen and his wife, Cynthia of Los Angeles, California; Ronald Wayne Trevarthen and his wife, Karen of Portland, Oregon; Richard Lawrence "Larry" Trevarthen and his wife, Carol of Vancouver, Washington; Christian Banks Trevarthen and his partner, Chad Johnston of Portland, Oregon, stepson John William Hargrove and his wife, Kelly of Birmingham, Alabama; and stepdaughter Virginia "Ginny" Turner and her husband Rusty of Waynesville, North Carolina. Dick also is survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Kendrick Trevarthen who passed in 2012. He will be missed by many. A musical celebration of his life is being planned for an upcoming date. 7620	Robert W. Gamache Memorial Educational Symposium Robert W. Gamache 1939-2008 The Rubber Division, ACS and Trostel Ltd. have partnered to create the Robert Gamache Memorial Educational Symposium, honoring the dedication to education that the former President and CEO showed during his nearly 50 years in the rubber industry. Working with the Education & Publications Committee, Trostel has agreed to fund the development and future offerings of this program in his memory. The first courses will be available during the Fall 2009 Rubber Expo in Pittsburgh, PA. Bob Gamache spent his youth in New Hampshire where he achieved a degree in engineering from the New Hampshire Technical College. He first joined Trostel as a Process Engineer in 1976 after 17 years with International Packings Corporation and four years with the Air National Guard. In 1985, Bob was appointed President of Trostel, where he aggressively purused new sales opportunities, expanded Trostel's markets globally and encouraged activities in research and development of designs, materials and processes. He grew Trostel's manufacturing capabilities by creating the Polymer Compounding Division, opening new manufacturing locations in Wisconsin and Mexico and acquired new mixing, molding and testing technologies. During his tenure, Trostel experienced substantial growth in both existing and new markets. In 2001, Bob retired as President and CEO of Trostel to sit on the Board of Directors for the Everett Smith Group for the next six years. He always believed in providing youth with the opportunity to develop and expand their capabilities, supporting both local youth and disabled adult organizations. An avid golfer and boating enthusiast, Bob was also active in several industry and technical organizations such as TEC Group, Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA), Polyurethane Manufactures Association (PMA), Society of Mechanical Engineers (SME) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). (Gamache) Savini, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born in 1946, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Roger was a son of the late Arthur William and Jeanne Ledoux Savini. Roger and his wife owned and operated Savini's Restaurant and Ciro's Tavern in Woonsocket, creating a family-friendly gathering place for their community. Prior to purchasing Savini's in 1980, he worked at General Motors and pursued a successful career as a real estate broker. Together they also owned Chipman's Corner and Fairmount St. Fish & Chip restaurants and a local laundromat. Roger enjoyed staying busy and was always on the go. If he wasn't at the restaurants, you could find him making the rounds at the local social clubs; Italian Workingmen's Club, Cercle Laurier, Elks & St. Joseph's Veterans Association. He had a knack for blackjack and became a regular on the Atlantic City and Las Vegas scene with his friends. He loved his family vacations to Aruba each year and cherished time with his children and grandchildren, but his favorite pastime was simply spending time with his wife. He attended school in Stoke until the age of 18 where he worked with his father on the old family property. In 1932 he established himself at Ville Marie, Témiscamingue, on his own account, he devoted himself to growing strawberries and raspberries. After four years, he went to Val d'Or to work for Mr. Jules Dubreuil, grocer, butcher, later becoming his partner until M.Dubreuil's death in March 1942. 7645	Ronald L. Jach, formerly of Paw Paw, entered eternal life on March 4, 2020. He was 70 years old. Ron passed away after a long courageous battle with throat cancer, as well as a heart condition. Ron was born on April 18, 1949 in Paw Paw, to the late Guy T. and Donna L. (Squire) Jach. Ron graduated from Paw Paw High School in 1968. He worked for the Paw Paw Shopping Center in many capacities for over 30 years. Ron was a member of the Moose Lodge, Knights of Columbus, and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Paw Paw, where he ushered for many years. After retiring, he moved to Manistee, MI, an area he loved. Anyone who knew Ron, knew he was always a kid at heart! He loved playing cards, doing puzzles, bowling, golfing, fishing, knitting, gambling, and especially, watching old classics on TV.
