(Henley) Phillips Valley Hills Funeral Home YAKIMA - Margaret Phillips, 92, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013, at the Ponderosa Assisted Living in Yakima. Margaret was born in Moxee to Joseph and Rebecca Faucher. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic School, then Holy Names Academy in Seattle, graduating from Wapato High School in 1939. She received her Registered Nurse's License in 1944 from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing. Margaret married Charles Henley in 1944, just before he was shipped overseas in the Army. After he returned in 1946, they moved to Grandview, and she worked at Sunnyside Memorial Hospital in Obstetrics. Margaret was also in charge of the Civil Defense Program, and taught Red Cross home nursing classes. Their first daughter Becky was born in 1947, then Chris in 1948, and Jocelyn in 1950. Around 1963, they all moved to Toppenish, where Margaret worked at the Toppenish Central Memorial Hospital. She was the Charge Nurse of Medical Surgical ICU, CCU, and Pediatrics until she retired in 1976. She was lovingly called "Mother Hen" by her coworkers. Margaret's husband Charlie passed away in 1970, so after her retirement in 1976 she moved to Vancouver, Washington with her daughter Chris and son-in-law Mike Jones and grandchildren James and DeAnn. Margaret married Harold Phillips in 1981. Harold passed away in 1995. She then joined Chris and Mike in Puyallup. When Margaret's daughter Chris died of breast cancer in 1997, Margaret moved back to Yakima in 1999, then to the Ponderosa Assisted Living in 2008. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Margaret made the best pecan rolls and dinner rolls. She loved her burgundy wine. Margaret is survived by daughters Becky (Corky) Story and Jocelyn (Steve) Gamache. She is also survived by grandchildren Theresa (Troy) Upshaw, Aric (Lori) Gamache, Ryan Gamache, James (Ella) Jones, and her brother Don Faucher, as well as by great-grandchildren Cami (Pat) Dixon, Casey and David Upshaw, and Parker and Sydney Gamache, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Charlie and Harold, her daughter Chris, and her granddaughter DeAnn. She was also preceded in death by her brother Len Faucher and sisters Monica Brackney and Rosemary Faris. The family would like to thank the following: the Ponderosa Assisted Living family --- You took Mom into your home and gave her so much love and excellent care every day. You are the BEST. Also to Landmark Care & Rehab --- Your quality of care brought her back to us for a little while longer. 210	Edna O?Brien OBITUARY 79, of Westport, Connecticut, died Friday, September 21st. Born in Pahokee, Florida on December 27, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Frances Brown Lee and the late Ray Edward Lee. She lived in Colorado for most of her adult life and spent the later years of her life in Prairie Village, Kansas and Westport, Connecticut. Mrs. O?Brien moved to Denver, Colorado in the early 1950s after graduating from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, Florida in 1950. She became a legal secretary, working for James D. Voorhees, John R. Bermingham, and Continental Oil Company, among others. Later in life, she worked as an executive secretary and office manager for the Amphenol Cadre Division of Bunker Ramo and Front Range Cable in Longmont, Colorado, and National Wire & Stamping in Englewood, Colorado before retiring in 1992. She was married to Duncan Munroe O?Brien on December 6, 1958. Together they had four sons before divorcing in 1972. Her greatest joys were her four boys and her grandchildren, and she always cherished the memories of her parents. She was creative and loved working with crafts of all kinds, and she always seemed able to touch those around her who needed it the most. She was an ardent supporter of the Denver Broncos. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and she never stopped loving the father of her children. She is survived by four sons, Duncan Munroe O?Brien, Jr. of Westport, CT, Douglas Drake O?Brien of Highlands Ranch, CO, Stewart Larkin O?Brien of Herndon, VA, and Malcolm Edward O?Brien of Lakewood, CO; three daughters-in law, Jennifer, Jodi, and Melissa; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth Crary, Duncan Munroe III, Katherine Anne, Caroline Lee, Margaret Louise, John Larkin, Chelsea Lynnae, Lauren and Ethan; and one niece, Linda Vanrell of Huntsville, AL. Her brother, Charles Jackson Lee, and sister, Dolores Lee Gamache, preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bridgeport Rescue Mission (1088 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06605) to support its efforts to help neighbors in need. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at 2:00 pm at The Congregational Church of Green?s Farms, 71 Hillandale Road, Westport, CT. Burial will be private. 211	Ernest A. Johnson, 73, a resident of Hancock, passed away Thursday morning January 30, 2014, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock where he had been a patient for the past month. He was born on April 27, 1940, Dollar Bay, a son of the late Arne and Irene (Kemppainen) Johnson. He was raised in Hubbell and graduated from the Lake Linden High School with the class of 1958. He then attended Suomi College. Mr. Johnson had worked a variety of jobs in the Copper Country before becoming manager at the Sherwin Williams Paint Store where he retired from after 20 years. Ernie was member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Hancock. He also was active in the community being a former member of the Hancock Fire Department, U.P. Whitetails Association where he was a past president, and B.P.O.E. #381 of Hancock. Currently he was active with the Knights of the Round Table and B.P.O.E. #404 of Calumet. In his younger days, Ernie enjoyed pitching for various softball teams. More recently, he was a member of the Wyandotte Hills Golf League and enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing his whole life. Preceding him in death were his parents and a son Joseph Johnson.
