Hubert Miron
REDDING, Calif. - Hubert Miron, 83, a native of Kingsford, passed away on June 20, 2008, in Redding with his family at his side.
Hugh was born in 1924 in Kingsford, the fourth of six children born to Angeline and James Miron. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 1941. He enlisted in the military at the age of 18 serving in the Infantry and Air Force between1943 and 1953. His service included wartime duty in Europe and Asia. Hubert was awarded the Bronze Star.
Hugh met Delores Sorenson, then a civil servant, in 1952, at Norton Air Force Base in California.
After a three-year courtship, he and Delores married and eventually settled in Oceanside, Calif. where they raised a family of three boys.
An educator for nearly 30 years, Hugh taught elementary and junior high school and served as vice principal of Jefferson Junior High School in Oceanside for 20 years.
Hubert is survived by his wife, Delores; his three sons, John, Steven, and Scott; his three lovely daughters-in-law, Terry, Achong, and Kera; his two beautiful grandchildren, Jonathan and Leanne; his brothers, George and Harry; and many nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
A compassionate and gregarious man, Hubert touched the lives of so many. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
