COLUMBIA - Raymond Gamache, 72 of Columbia, died Sunday, June 12, 2005 at home. He was born September 29, 1932 in Willimantic, the son of Patrick and Alberta (St. Amand) Gamache. He had been employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 20 years, retiring in 1994. He previously worked for the Electro-Motive Co. for many years. Mr. Gamache was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of the V.F.W. Gold Star Post 1724. His survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Pam Gamache of Lebanon; three daughters, Carol Dumas and her husband, Jerry of Willimantic, Colette Grzych and her husband, Jon of Essex Junction, VT and Karen Morin of Willimantic and her friend, David Ancona. He also leaves 13 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins and a very dear friend, Ellie Prevost of West Hartford. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 16, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church in Willimantic. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St., Willimantic.
