PRIVATE RODGER THOMPSON. Neche, was the son of David Thompson, and was born in Neche on November 28th, 1893. At the age19 years he went to Montana where he worked for five years with the Security Bridge Company. Billings, Mont. While in Terry, Mont., he entered the militlary service June 2uth, 1918, und was sent to Camp Lewis. Wash., where he was assigned to 21st Co., 6th Btn, 166th Depot Brigade. On August 15th he was sent to Camp Fremont Calif,, with Co. K. 5th Infantry, and Oct. 21, left for Hoboken. N- J. While there Private Thompson was taken ill with pneumonia and died in the hospital at Port of Embarkation, Hoboken, N. J. His body was sent to Neche, ND and after a full military ceremony was buried in Neche Cemetery.
