Died:
- Melva Elaine Bruhn, age 91, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at her home. She was born October 10, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Melva Mary (nee Kountzman) and Paul Henry Giudicy.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Ray Bruhn.
She is survived by her daughters Leila (Craig) Knarr of Fenton, Missouri, Linda (Scott) Chapman of Festus, Missouri and Anita (Michael) Jones of Hillsboro, Missouri; grandchildren Danielle Huskey, Hannah Chapman, Katie Chapman and Geoffrey (Christine) Jones; and great-grandchildren Lacee Huskey, Lanie Huskey, Kinley Huskey, Alexandria Jones, Auggie Jones and Avery Jones.
Melva was a kind and private person who loved her family, friends and animals dearly, especially cats, dogs, horses, deer and hummingbirds. Any animal who was blessed to find her knew it would be well taken care of. She will be missed dearly by her family, friends, dog and cat, Ginger and Callie.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 12:00 noon at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, officiated by Pastor Dave Fluegge. Interment will be in Charter Cemetery of DeSoto, Missouri. Memorials in Melva's memory are preferred to Fourche Valley Rescue in Bloomsdale, Missouri, Open Door Animal Sanctuary in House Springs, Missouri, or The Humane Society of Missouri.
