  [S5] Obituary. Fredreick Russell Marquis was born June 25, 1906 in Chippewa Falls Wisconsin to George Henry Marquis and Edythe Katherine Stumm. After graduating from high school he moved to Cloquet, Minnesota and got a job as an electrician. On Sept 2 1933 he married Esther Benson in Duluth, St Louis, Minnesota. To this union were born 2 children, a daughter and a son. While in Duluth Russell got a job as a postman. Russell had two reasons for moving, first his daughter became deaf at the age of eighteen months due to a high fever, and Russell wanted to put her in a better school. Riverside, California had a new school for the deaf. Second, the winters in Minnesota were rough for a postman and the warm days of California sounded nice. So in 1952 he moved his family to Riverside, California. Russell worked as a postman in Minnesota and California and promoted to assistant Riverside Postmaster. He worked for the US Postal Service for over thirty years. He was known as a fun, energetic person. He and Esther bowled at Tava Lanes, in Riverside, California, since it opened. He loved to spend time with his 5 grandchildren whenever he could. He would pull-taffy or play his organ as he loved music. Russell died at the age of 86 due to liver failure. He was cremeated and his daughter held his remains until his beloved wife, Esther, joined him in death in 2001. Their remains were combined. a water ceremony and memorial were observed.
