Born March 6, 1919, died September 18, 2002, in Ottawa. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Doucette; son of the late Anysie Parent and the late Alfred Gauvin. Dear father of Claire (Andrew Nowaczek), André (Suzan Pouliot), Guy (Lise Gamache), Lise (Steve Shipley), Marcel (Joan Bélanger) and Robert (Jocelyne Pilon). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; his brother Denis and his sisters, Marthe, Claire, Anita, Mariette and Yvette; his sisters-in-law and his brothers-in-law, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his son Gaston and his brothers, Rolland, Raymond, Lorenzo and Roger. His family and many friends from Club l'Âge d'Or Colombien will miss his smile and support. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Elizabeth-Bruyère palliative center and the Jardins Camilla residence. Relatives and friends are invited to St-Laurent Hulse, Playfair & McGarry Funeral Home 1200 Ogilvie Road Ottawa on Thursday, September 19, 2002, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, September 20, from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The Eucharistic celebration will take place at St. Sebastian's Church, 1000 Frances Street, Ottawa, on Saturday, September 21, 2002, at 11 a.m. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
