Died:
- Bette Ann Gamache, 80, of Farmington, passed away Friday, December 19th, 2025. Born March 9th, 1945, in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harry and Vera (Read) Lee. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul R. Lee, who was killed in the Vietnam War, and whom she deeply missed throughout her life.
Bette was the devoted and beloved wife of Marcel ?Gus? Gamache, with whom she shared fifty-six years of loving marriage. Bette and Gus grew up and met in Taunton, Massachusetts. After marriage, they lived on the South Shore until moving to Farmington, Connecticut in the early ?90?s. Bette made close and enduring friendships in both locations.
Along with her husband, Bette is survived by her son Paul Gamache and his wife Nicole and her two granddaughters, Abigail and Tessa. Bette was a proud mother to her son and daughter-in-law and an even prouder grandmother to her cherished granddaughters.
Bette earned her nursing degree from Quincy College in 1991. She went back to school later in life while juggling home and family and was rightfully proud of her accomplishment. She was rewarded with meaningful experiences and lifelong friends. Prior to retirement, Bette was a Registered Nurse at Clark House Nursing Center in Westwood, Massachusetts.
Bette was a warm, caring and generous person who enjoyed close personal friendships and really loved a good laugh. Anyone who knew her could attest to her strong fashion sense as she dressed impeccably, amassed a wardrobe unmatched and enjoyed lavishing Abigail and Tessa with beautiful children?s attire. Bette also had a keen eye for home décor and took great pride in furnishing and decorating her living spaces, which were always cozy, inviting and classy. She especially enjoyed decorating at Christmas and made sure there was just the right amount of tinsel on the tree. She also loved gift giving, and delighted in selecting and giving the most generous and thoughtful gifts to others.
In addition to traveling throughout the US, Europe and the Caribbean, Bette enjoyed the backyard pool and the beach. She most loved Cape Cod, especially time spent in Maushop Village. While she took pleasure in hosting friends and family ?on beach time?, what she loved most was watching Abigail and Tessa dancing, ice cream cones in tow, to the live music at the Popponesset Marketplace (pronounced ?Mahketplace?). Bette was also a devoted dog mother for two of the best dogs the world would know in Cookie and Beauregard, as well as Oreo.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Monday, December 29th, 2025, from 4:00-6:00pm. Funeral Service and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
