  [S5] Obituary. Utica, NY ? Rita A. (Payne) Gamache, 81, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Wynn Hospital in Utica. Rita was born in Utica, June 1, 1943, a daughter of the late Francis and Beulah (Roscoe) Payne. She was raised and educated in local schools and graduated from Utica Free Academy (UFA). At one time, Rita was married to Timothy R. Gamache. Rita previously held a position with St. Elizabeth Hospital in Utica; She was currently working at RCIL, as a Home Health Aid. She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Michele and Earl Blowers, Linda Gamache, and Christine Ayers; a son, Timothy Gamache; grandchildren, Timothy Blowers, Kyle Ayers, Connor Ayers, and Olivia Gamache; a brother, David Payne; and an aunt, Grace Payne. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, a sister-in-law, Mary Salvatore; and many friends, who were like family. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Payne. In keeping with Rita?s wishes there will be no public calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning, June 21, 2024, at 10:30, at Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in New York Mills. The family will be receive visitors at the conclusion of services in church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wolanin Funeral Home, 266 Main St., New York Mills, NY.
