1914 - 2004 A great lady passed away in the early hours of autumn on September 22nd. Thérèse Gamache Doyon died at the Youville Hospital in Sherbrooke, surrounded by her daughter, her granddaughters and medical staff. This woman was known especially to St-Benoit Labre. Curious, open-minded, her social, political, humanistic and Christian commitment had led her to simplify in various causes including the prevention of alcoholism (The Circle of Lacordaires). She has been a member of the Mouvement des Femmes Chrétiennes and the Circle of Farmers. In 1991, she founded the Société de genealogie de la Beauce. Many people have benefited from her innate talent as a genealogist when it was with her heart, her life experience, her unlimited resources, her philosophy and her generosity that she communicated with them. It will leave an indelible memory for all those who have benefited from its actions focused on justice and well-being. At C.H.U. S. Pavillon d'Youville, Sherbrooke, on Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at the age of 90, passed away Mrs. Thérèse Gamache, beloved wife of the late Mr. Barthélémy Doyon. She lived in Saint-Benoît Labre and formerly in Saint-Georges. She is survived by her daughter Francinn (Bruno Beaudoin) and daughters Naomi and Maïté Doyon-Rochon of Sherbrooke; his brothers Gilbert Gamache (Julienne Poulin) and René-Gilles Gamache (Yvonne Loignon) of Saint-Georges as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins ??and friends. The funeral was held on Saturday, September 25, 2004 at 10:30 am in the church of St-Benoît Labre and from there to the parish cemetery under the direction of Roy & Giguère House Inc. 2550, 1st Avenue West, St-Georges de Beauce.
