HOLYOKE - Albert Joseph Boisselle, age 86, of Holyoke, a longtime Holland resident, died on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at the Holyoke Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Albert and Olivia (Giroux) Boisselle and was educated in the Holyoke schools.
Al was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, having served as a Merchant Marine during World War II.
He worked for 20 years at Holyoke Electro Type Co., then at Moore Drop Forge Co. He retired as a supervisor in the Maintenance Dept. at Brookwood Rehabilitation Center in Holyoke in 1991.
Albert is survived by a son, Allen Boisselle of Dayville, CT; a daughter, Susan Lubanski of Greenfield; four grandchildren: Belinda Coffey, Michelle Wood, Michael Boisselle and Jessica Lubanski; two great-grandchildren: Cassandra Kazar and Brody Albert Wood; a brother, Oliver Boisselle of Chicopee, two sisters: Jeannette Barnaby of Altoona, NY, and Rita Mustain of Missouri, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Al was predeceased by a son, David Boisselle in 2003, as well as two brothers, Romeo and Armand Boisselle, and seven sisters: Ida Gamache, Anita Viera, Rosa Paquette, Irene LaFlamme, Alice Kennedy, Delores Guerra, and Marie Dyer.
Calling hours will be held Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St., Holyoke, with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Burial with military honors will take place Monday at 11 am at Holland Cemetery on Brimfield Road in Holland.
