Deceased Name: GLORIA ANN KELLERHUIS
Gloria Ann Kellerhuis, 68, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, in Duluth after a long illness with Alzheimer's.
Gloria was born April 4, 1931, in Barrien County, Mich., to Albert and Irene (Grant) Briney. She married Thomas A. Kellerhuis on July 1, 1950. They moved to Duluth and raised their family. Gloria spent her younger adult years as an LPN at a local nursing home. After relocating to Duluth, she founded and operated her own business, The Kellerhuis Saddle Shop, for many years.
Gloria was a longtime member of the Duluth Saddle Club and will be especially remembered for her long hours of volunteering at all the club functions. Gloria also will be remembered for her beautiful gardens, crafting and always having a friendly smile.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Lester, Kenneth, Cliff and Dean Briney; a sister, Arlene; a granddaughter, Tiffany; and her husband, Thomas, on May 10.
Gloria is survived by her loving family: sons Tony and Bruce (Tracey), both of Duluth, and John of Iron River; daughters Marlene, Alma (John) Gamache and Anna (Steve) Verva, all of Duluth, and Michelle (Mark) Porter of Meadowlands; a brother, Allen Briney of Niles, Mich.; grandchildren Billie, Katie, Misty, Ray, Jessica, Max, Amanda, Keith, Tammy, Thomas, Tina, Aarron and Myra; and great-grandchildren Mattison and Cydnee.
She will be missed by all. May Tom and Gloria be happy forever.
Visitation: 9 until the 10 a.m. service Saturday in St. Joseph's Church, Gnesen. Gloria and Tom will be buried in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home.
