Chelmsford
Jean G. "Geno" Gamache, age 78, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away at Lowell General Hospital on Monday, September 27, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (Dionne) Brown with whom he shared 35 years and married in 2002.
He was born in Magog, Quebec on August 14, 1943 and was the son of the late Jean Claude and Lucia (Devost) Gamache.
Geno received his education in Canada and at St. Joseph's School in Lowell. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years at Skip's Restaurant in Chelmsford and also worked for Aramark Food Service at UMass Lowell. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports, bowling, visits to the casino, playing cards with friends, and going to the racetrack with his brothers. He adored cooking, and entertaining family and friends. A fan of warm weather, Geno enjoyed his summers at the beach and his winters in Florida.
In addition to his loving wife, Geno is survived by his son Peter Gamache and his wife Marie of Maine; his stepdaughter, Suzanne Brown of Lowell; his granddaughter Demimarie Dabilis; his siblings, Marcelle Sterritt and her husband Bob of Newton, NH, Johanne Conlin and her longtime companion Dick Turnbull of Merrimac, MA, and Michael Gamache and his wife Nanette of Saugus; his sisters-in-law Lucille Gamache and Nancy Coraccio; brother-in-law Jack Dionne; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friends, Yvon Rodrique and Roger Bergeron.
In addition to his parents, sadly he is predeceased by his daughter Denise Gamache; his stepson Kevin Brown; his brothers, Roger Gamache, John Gamache, and Paul Gamache; and his stepmother Marie Ann Gamache.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 1st from 4pm to 8pm at BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 2nd at 9am at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., CHELMSFORD. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, CHELMSFORD.
