NEWPORT NEWS - Celeste Crumpler, 95, passed away on December 26, 2015. She was born in 1920 and grew up near Asheville, NC, and often shared many wonderful memories of that period of her life. She loved nature and her goal in life was to spread its beauty around, which she accomplished through her gardening, her memberships in garden clubs,and her eye for decorating. She enjoyed taking a nondescript area and turning it into something spectacular. She was preceded in death by her first husband Wilfred Gamache; her second husband Weymouth Crumpler; her parents; and 12 siblings. She is survived by son Jon Gamache and his wife Pam; daughter Missy Correlle and her husband Paul; grandson Mike Gamache; granddaughter Christine Gamache; brother-in-law Bob Feinberg; brother-in-law Nelson Crumpler; plus many nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks to Agape Home Care (especially Olga Armstrong and Connie) and the staff of the Newport Convalescent Center for the excellent care she received. The family will receive friends from 5-6:30pm, Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 at Weymouth Funeral Home. All other services will be private.
