Larry D. Gamache
A graveside funeral will be held Friday, April 12th, 2013 for 72-year-old Larry Gamache of Bonne Terre, who died Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 at his home.
He was born August 3rd, 1940 in St. Louis, the son of Lawrence Gamache and Rose Sier. Lawrence preceded him in death; Rose survives. A stepmother, Kattie Gamache, preceded him in death.
He married Deborah Rawson February 28th, 2001. She survives in Bonne Terre.
Other survivors include a son, Lawrence Gamache, Jr.; a brother, Edward Gamache of Ste. Genevieve; a sister, Alice (Marvin) Burssatti of the state of IL; two stepsons, Jeff (Kristie) Perkins of St. Louis, Scott Perkins of the state of CA; a stepdaughter, Melissa Walker of Desloge; grandchildren Jarrett Walker, Jeremiah Perkins, and Bethany Perkins.
An aunt, Mae Ray, and a sister, Rose Gamache preceded him in death.
Larry served in the Army from 1962 to 1971 in the 8th infantry Airborne Division. He was an expert rifleman, jumpmaster and had recieved 2 Gold Medals, a Bronze Star, Parachutist badge and a Purple Heart for his service. He was a member of American Legion Post 2210 and made his living as a truck driver. Larry Loved to fish, hunt and riding his motorcycle. He was a Father, Grandfather, Step-Father, and Step-Grandfather. Everyone knew him by his laughter.
There will be no visitation.
A graveside service for Larry Gamache of Bonne Terre will be held at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Friday, April 12, 2013. The funeral procession will depart from the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve at 9:15 a.m.
Burial will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
