(1830 census has the family living in Ohio. 1840 census living in Mackinac County, MI. The family moved to MI about 1832-1833. 1860 census listed as born in MI.) He married Mary Elizabeth McCoy on April 20, 1853 in Moran township Mackinac county MI., Archie Newton officiated. They lived on Beaver Island for a time and also on Fox Island and in many other fishing ports along the northwest shore of Lake Michigan. Jerry testified for the prosecution in the infamous case, the People vs. Pond, a trial for the murder of his childhood friend and neighbor Isaac Blanchard Jr. who was shot and killed by Augustus Pond at Seul Choix point. Eventually Jeremiah and Mary settled in the Bay de Noc/Stonington area of Delta county, where Jeremiah died in 1895 of "LaGrippe"(influenza).
