  [S5] Obituary. Wednesday, September 9, 1953 Mrs. Frank Slade, the former Miss Lena Gamache, died suddenly early today. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bernard Slade, Schuylerville, and Wilbur Slade, West Chazy; two brothers, Leo and Victor Gamache, Schuylerville; two grandchildren, John and Ann Mary Slade, West Chazy; an aunt, Mrs. Charles Cheney, Schuylerville, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. at the residence in Washington St. and at 9:30 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, where a Solemn High Mass of Requiem will be celebrated by the pastor, the Rev. Lena Mae Slade HOMER ? Services were to be today (May 10) at the Briggs-Hall Memorial Home for Lena Mae Slade, 88, a former Homer resident who died in Manassas, Va. Burial was to be in Kelloggville Cemetery. Mrs. Slade taught school in Moravia for many years. . She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Homer, Surviving are two sons, Floyd C. Slade of Homer and Lawrence C. Slade of Palmyra, Pa.; two daughters, Evelyn Doran of McGraw and Marie Hilsinger of Manassas, Va.; 16 grandchildren and 26 greatgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Homer or to the Cortland County Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
