Died:
- Helen Marie Hefflinger, nee Bearhorst, 85, of Columbia, Ill., born December 14, 1931, in St. Louis, Mo., passed away on February 9, 2017 at Friendship Village Senior Living Community, St. Louis, Mo.
She was a lifelong homemaker and caretaker. She loved canning produce and spending time with her large family and friends, dancing and laughing. Helen was a member of the Columbia Gymnastic Assoc., and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, Ill.
Helen was preceded by her parents, Fred and Virgie, nee Marler, Bearhorst; her husband, Harold Oscar Hefflinger, whom she was married on May 20, 1948, in St. Louis, Mo., who passed away December 19, 1984. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Julie Nelson, Pauline Thomas and Geraldine Sitze; brothers, Charlie Bearhorst and Richard Bearhorst; and her special friend Ed Sugden.
Surviving are children, Gail (Gary) Gill, Donald (Ginny) Hefflinger, Fred (Kay) Hefflinger, Patty0 Hefflinger, Pam (Kevin) Fries, Matt (Gina) Hefflinger, Christine (Todd Duggan) Hamilton and Scott Hefflinger; grandchildren, Daniel and Pat Gill, Mischelle (Doug) Gill-Kemper, Rachel (Josh) Lanz, Tommy Hefflinger, Brandie Hefflinger, Shanna (James) Roberson, Angie (April) Large, Amanda (Dallas) Kennon, Nicole (Jason) Pennington, Aaron (Danielle) Fries, Ryan and Ericka Hefflinger, Adam (Jess Janek) Hamilton, Kayla Hamilton and Scott Lepp; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, LaVerne Eddington; as well as other relatives and friend.
