Deceased Name: MARIE GAMACHE HOBAN
Marie Gamache Hoban, 80, East Grand Forks, died Friday, May 26, 1995, in Good Samaritan Nursing Center, East Grand Forks, where she had lived since July 1994.
Marie Nielsen was born July 27, 1914, in Stavanger, Norway, the daughter of John and Regina (Orre) Nielsen. She came to the United States when she was 6 and lived in Hampden, N.D., where she attended school. She married Arthur Gamache in 1932 in Olga, N.D. Arthur Gamache died in 1945. She married J. Leo Hoban in 1950 in Olga. She then moved to Grand Forks. J. Leo Hoban died in 1973. She moved to St. Anne's Guest Home, Grand Forks.
She is survived by sons, Pat Gamache, Mentor, Minn., and Arthur Gamache, Fargo; daughters, Irene Jones, Belding, Mich., Helen Davidson, Grand Forks, Marilyn Carl, East Grand Forks, and Anna Marie Harlow, Citrus Heights, Calif.; stepsons, Leonard Gamache, Spokane, Wash., and Isadore Gamache, Grand Forks; stepdaughters, Rolande Gamache, Minneapolis, Dorothy Gendereau, Walhalla, N.D., and Aurice Nichols, Titusville, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and brothers, Arthur, Grand Forks, Henry, Renton, Wash., and Kenneth, Enderlin, N.D.
She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne; stepsons, Romeo and Ronald Gamache; two sisters; and one brother.
Services:10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Calvary Lutheran Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation:5 to 7 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, in Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, and one hour before services in the church. Memorials are preferred to United Hospice.
Burial:Sunnywood Gardens Cemetery, Grand Forks.
