LISBON ? Rachel C. Richard, 83, of Lisbon, died peacefully on June 19 at her home with her loving family of children and grandchildren by her side.
She was born on Feb. 22, 1932, in Paquetville, New Brunswick, the daughter of Odonias and Alice (Pariseau) Blais. The family relocated to Lisbon in the early 1930s and Rachel attended St. Dominic High School for two years. On Sept. 5, 1955, she married her husband, Roland P. Richard of Lewiston, and settled in Lisbon to raise their family. She was a parishioner of Saint Ann Church in Lisbon until it consolidated, becoming Holy Trinity Church, where she continued to celebrate her devotion to and faith in God and family.
She worked in the textile industry for the majority of her life at various mills throughout her career, including Bates Mill and Farnsworth Mill and retiring at age 72 from Miller Industries in Lisbon Falls.
She was a caring, compassionate, loving mother to her children and loving memere to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a little lady with a tremendously large heart and loved spending time with her family, cooking, going on walks and spending quiet time talking.
She is survived by her son, David R. Richard and his wife, Sheri, of Monmouth; daughter, Linda P. Gamache and her husband, Lee, of Lisbon; four grandchildren, Jessica Bolduc, Christopher Gamache, Cooper Richard and Madison Richard; six great-grandchildren; and sibling Therese Beliveau of Rock Forest, Quebec.
