BRUNSWICK ? Isidore J.B. ?Pete? St. Pierre, 78, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at a local hospital.
He was born on June 16, 1926, in Brunswick, the son of Willie and Reine Leclair St. Pierre.
He attended St. John School and also served in the U.S. Army.
Pete worked for many years as a machinist at the Pejebscot Paper Mill. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, playing beano and he loved to go out to eat. He was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. He loved his big cars and would often do on day trips traveling around the state, but always wanting to be home at the end of the day to sleep in his own bed. He also loved his dog, Rachael, who was always by his side.
He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brunswick and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the American Legion Post 202 in Topsham.
Isidore was predeceased by his first wife, Valentine St. Pierre on Dec. 24, 1992.
On August 5, 1994, he married Venise M. Beaulieu, at St. John Church in Brunswick. They cherished the short amount of time they had together.
He was predeceased by five brothers, William, Louie, Lucien, Morris and Leo St. Pierre; and two sisters, Corrine Favereau and Cecile Morin.
He is survived by his wife of ten years; one son, David J. St. Pierre of Lewiston; one daughter, Nannette A. and her husband, Ronald Oburn, of Topsham; one stepdaughter, Joann and her husband, Jeffery Tonn, of Durham; three grandchildren, Nicole Niven of Brunswick, Derek Oburn of Steep Falls and Kevin Oburn of Windsor; four step-grandchildren, Venice Stack of Burnham, Victoria Stack of Richmond, and Jeffery and Elizabeth Tonn of Durham; two great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild; two brothers, Marcel St. Pierre of Plainville, Conn., and Andrew St. Pierre of Topsham; three sisters, Mary Rose Gamache of Brunswick, Theresa Paquette of Brunswick and Irene Trott of California; and many nieces and nephews.
