1LT Donald Jerome Frazelle, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Raleigh, NC.
First Lieutenant Donald Jerome Frazelle was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Reserve, 1LT Frazelle served our country until March 21st, 1971 in Quang Nam, South Vietnam. He was 24 years old and was married. It was reported that Donald died from wounds received from a sniper bullet 10 days after being hit. His body was recovered. 1LT Frazelle is on panel 04W, line 063 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C.
He served with Alpha Company, 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 196th Infantry Brigade, USARV.
Lt Frazelle was the son of Colonel and Mrs Jerome Frazelle. The husband of Carol E. and the father of Melissa and Mark Edward Frazelle of Alexandria Va.
He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Silver Star Medal, The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and The Good Conduct Medal.
