Dietz, Carl R.
1945 - 2018
Carl R. Dietz, age 72, of Grove City, passed away suddenly September 7, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Grove City. He was born September 19, 1945 in Akron, Ohio to the late Lester and Mable (Wilson) Dietz. Carl was a Boy Scout, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Carl started his professional career at NCR in Cleveland, Ohio and transferred to Columbus in 1971. He was a retired accountant having worked for several car dealerships in the Columbus area. After retirement, he worked as a temporary employee for many Columbus businesses, most recently Smith's Medical. He was active with Grove City Jaycee's, and also served one term as Ohio Jaycee's P.O.C. Director. Carl was a member of The Grove City United Methodist Church and was a US Air Force Veteran, serving in Vietnam and Germany. Survivors include his loving wife, Rayma (Gamache) Dietz; children, Gretchen (Samuel) Hetrick, Kurt (Kessy) Dietz and "adopted" children, Matthew and Lacey Hetrick Sr.; grandchildren, Eddie, Jae'lyn, Connor, Jacob, Richard, Matthew Jr., Greg, Ashley, Sara, Jayden and Charlotte; sister, Eileen (Donald) Calaway; and brother, Gerald (Sandra) Dietz; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may visit Monday September 17, from 5-8 PM at Grove City United Methodist Church, 2684 Columbus St., Grove City, Ohio, where the funeral will be held Tuesday, September 18 at 10 AM. Pastor's Rev Dr. Dennis Mohler and Pastor Wayne Stuntz officiating. Interment Grove City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carl Dietz Memorial Fund c/o THE SPENCE-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 2697 Columbus St., Grove City, Ohio, 43123. Memorial funds will benefit the American Diabetes Association, The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and The Grove City United Methodist Church.
