Andrew P. Baron
Andrew P. Baron,77, 728 Lackawanna St., died Sunday June 16, where he had been admitted three weeks previously.
Bornin Jadlowa, Poland, Oct 3, 1885, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Baron. Mr. Baron was educated in Poland and came to the United States in 1904, settling in Pittsburgh, where he was employed in the coal industry.
In 1910, he moved to Alden, PA and in that year, married Mary Bawiec. The couple lived inAlden until 1920 when they purchased a farm at Pleasant Mount. They operated the farm for 25 years, selling it in 1945 and moving to Forest City. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1960.
Mr.Baron was employed in the coal industry a total of approximately 20 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Forest City, and its Holy Name Society and of the Polish National Alliance Society.
Surviving in addition to his widow are six sons, Joseph, operator of the Baron Dairy, Forest City, John at home,Paul, Owego, NY, Charles, Netcong, NJ, Adam, Newberg, NY and Michael of Harrisburg; three daughters, Miss Sophie, Newark, NJ, Miss Eleanor at home and Mrs. Angelo (Mary Ann) Anelli,Philadelphia; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Placha, McKeesport and Mrs. Marcella McCabe, Beltsville, Maryland; nine grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral was held from the home Thursday with mass in Sacred Heart Church by the Rev. John Madaj. Interment, St. James Cemetery,Pleasant Mount. Arrangements,Thomas L. Konchar, Forest City
