ROWLEY: Arthur ?Bud? R. Gamache, Jr., 58, on March 13, 2012, Bud found his way to peace and tranquility, his journey took place from his home, with the ?love of his life of 24 years?, Heather A. Grant, by his side. He leaves his adored stepmother, Phyllis E. Gamache of Peabody.
Born September 8, 1953 in Danvers, he was the son of Arthur ?Buddy? R. Gamache, Sr. and Jennie (Anderson) Gamache, and grandson of his sweet grandmother, Nellie Anderson, who all predeceased him.
He is survived by his children, a daughter, Michelle L. Gamache, three granddaughters, Brooke, Brianna and Erin Dugan, all of Rockland, Maine; a son, Matthew and his wife Jennifer; two grandsons, Trevor and Wyatt Gamache, all of Londonderry, NH. He is also survived by his siblings, Shirley M. Gamache and partner Greg Turner of Hampton, NH; Detective Lieutenant Joseph J. Gamache and partner Shilo Poor of Ipswich,MA; sister-in-law Linda Gamache and their children Joseph, Jr. and Angela Gamache of Byfield, MA; John F. Gamache and wife Beverly and their children John, Jr., Kristian and Samantha of Hampton, NH; Susan ?Suzie-Q? M. Dow and husband Bill and their children Jennifer and Stephanie ?Barbwire? of Seabrook, NH. Also four dear aunts, Shirley Gill, who is also his God-mother, Auntie Alice Bezuka and Dorothy Gamache all of Danvers, MA and Aunt Rose Morin of Salem, MA; His in-laws, Priscilla N. Jackman of Newbury,MA;Frank M. Sworobowicz, Jr. of Seabrook, NH; Hollis D. Grant, Jr. of Salisbury,MA; Hollie B. Streil and her husband John, their children, Jillian, Nikolaus and Alexander; Heidi M. Grant, whom she fondly pet named Bud, ?handsome?, all of Newbury. Hollis ?Donnie? D. Grant and his sons Robert and Brandon of Salisbury,MA and Hope ?Hopie? A. Grant and her children, Michael ?Bubba? Hanson, who Bud raised and thought of as a son, sharing his experiences and giving him the tools in life to succeed and Kasaundra ?Princess? Gentile of Newbury,MA. He also leaves two very dear friends, Frank Gatchell of Georgetown,MA and Mike Cook of Rowley,MA.
Bud was a paperboy in his young years before moving to Byfield in 1968. He graduated from Newburyport High School in 1971. He worked construction his whole life in addition to digging clams on the Rowley River.
Bud was an enthusiast for poker games, sports, especially football and watching the horses run. He was an avid outdoors man, owning a camp in Alton,ME; he enjoyed hunting with his son and friends and fishing with his grandson. Bud danced the dance, talked the talk, with a zest for life; he grabbed the bull by the horns and always made a grand entrance. And the journey continues he would say, always having me by his side. He had the most generous heart and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He would ask only one thing; PLEASE DO NOT CRY FOR ME, SMILE FOR ME.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11:00AM in the Community United Methodist Church, Central Street, Byfield, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to his grandchildren?s college fund, c/o Heather A. Grant, 397 Main Street,Rowley,MA 01969.
