AUBURN ? Ernest J. Patry Sr., 85, of Martin Drive, Lewiston, died Monday morning, April 9, at the Hospice House with his family by his side.
He was born in Lewiston on May 25, 1921, the son of Laurea and Laure (Gamache) Patry.
He was a graduate of Lewiston High School, and later attended Bates College.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served during World War II as an instructional navigator for pilots. Following his service to his country, he was co-owner of the former Reliable Oil Co. and HEFCO Inc.
Ernest was a man of deep faith and constantly prayed for God?s intercession for others. He will be greatly missed by his wife and family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa C. (Parent) Patry, whom he married on June 25, 1949; his sons, Ernest and wife, Patricia, of Grand Forks, N.D., Gerald of Buckeye, Ariz., and Anthony and wife, Magdelyn, of St. Francis, Minn.; his daughters, Elaine Smith and husband, Lloyd, of Manchester, Venise Larochelle of Turner, and Joyce Michaud and husband, William R., of Leeds; his brother, Harvey and wife, Victoria, of Cape Elizabeth; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Thelma Patry of Lewiston.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Francis and George.
