PLATTSBURGH ? Francis L. Laventure, 80, of Plattsburgh and formally of Champlain passed away Friday, July 22, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Mr. Laventure was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Perry's Mills the son of Joseph Leo and Laura (Baker) Laventure.He attended local schools and was employed as a machinist at Harris Graphics in Champlain.He married Pauline Seymour, she predeceased him. Survivors include one son, Bruce LaVenture and his wife Patricia of Champlain; one daughter, Barbara (LaVenture) Wehrlin and her husband David of Plattsburgh; one sister, Irene Duquette of Coopersville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews; and stepgrandchildren. He is also survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clifton and Muriel Gamache. Besides his wife, Mr. Laventure was predeceased by his parents; one brother, Andrus Laventure; one sister, Bertha LaPine; one grandson, Bruce LaVenture; and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Homer and Josephine Gamache.There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, July 30, 2005, at 9 a. M. in St. Mary's Church on Church Street in Champlain. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery on Prospect Street in Champlain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Skilled Nursing Facility at CVPH Medical Center, 75 Beekman St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.Arrangements are with M. B. Clark Funeral Home in Champlain.
