3152 Dr. David Gamache (Owner) is highly regarded for his compassionate service and fine quality care. He graduated from Creighton University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and in 1986 from the University of Nebraska as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. Dr. Gamache has established three successful state of the art dental offices in which he and his staff have been providing excellent care for over 23 years. He is committed to the highest standards of sterilization and patient satisfaction. In addition, Dr. Gamache served as a Commander in the U.S. Navy, providing dental care for the U.S. Marine Corp and is a veteran of 2003 Operation Iraqi Freedom.

When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Gamache enjoys agriculture and architecture.

3155 Dr. Gerald Lee Gamache, 70, Ph.D., research psychologist, educator and human factors expert, passed away May 16, 2013, at the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville.

He and his wife, Dr. Mildred N. Koger, Ed.D., have been active in the community, supporting intellectual and artistic endeavors.

Dr. Gamache was an expert in radiation research, having won the Nelson Butters Award for research contributions to clinical neuropsychology for his 10 year research of the effects of the Chernobyl Reactor explosion on human functioning. Through Koger-Gamache International, the Chernobyl research was funded by a grant from the United States Defense Agency. Dr. Gamache was presented with an honorary degree from the National Technology University of Ukraine. He also authored a human factors text book used at this Ukrainian university.

In recognition of outstanding service to the community and outstanding accomplishments in his profession he was presented the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2005 from Old Dominion University. All these accomplishments occurred after his experiencing a major disabling stroke in 1987.

For several years Dr. Gamache has been treasurer of the International Council of Psychologists, an organization with connections to the American Psychological Association and the United Nations. In 2012 he was conferred the distinction of Fellow of the American Psychological Association in recognition of outstanding and unusual contributions to the science and profession of psychology.

Dr. Gamache has authored several books including an English-language human factors text book and "Journeys," a genealogical book researching the Gamache family from

Normandy in 1565 to the present. His family helped establish New France (Quebec) and St. Louis where he is a member of the First Family historical organization. He was responsible for the establishment of a memorial sculpture where the remains of the founders of St. Louis are buried. Presently he has a children"s book, "The Bear (Snowball) Who Saved Christmas," in the process of being published. This book is illustrated by Debbie Spiller. He has almost completed another genealogy book of the Gamache family starting in the first century A.D.

Retired from Flagler College, he has been active in the community, giving historical artifacts to the Lighthouse Museum. He has lectured at Oxford College Roundtable and been active in many other endeavors.

In addition to his wife, Dr. Mildred Koger (Mili), he is survived by a brother, Rynard Gamache of Tucson; a twin sister, Sharon Shaver of St. Louis; daughter, Sarah Michele Gamache, Jacksonville; daughter, Kimberly Kaye Brantley; and granddaughter, Jessica Erin Brantley, St. Augustine; and son, Erik Terrence Gamache, Los Angeles. He was preceded in death by a son, David Anthony Gamache.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2013, at Trinity Episcopal Church with reception following. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Dr. Gamache was retired Navy.

In lieu of flowers, please give any donation to a charity of your choice . Dr. Gamache was particularly fond of Flagler College, EMMA Concert Association, the Lighthouse Museum, Friends of the Library and Salvation Army.

3158 Dr. Kathleen Armstrong Hauke, 68, of Arlington, VA, a writer who popularized the works of pioneering African-American journalist Ted Poston, died July 30, 2004 at Virginia Hospital Center following a battle with cancer. Kathleen was born August 27, 1935, daughter of Robert J. and Katherine Gall Armstrong. She graduated from the Univesity of Michigan and earned a PhD from the University of Rhode Island. Raised in Kalamazoo, MI, she lived in Kingston, RI, Atlanta, GA and Arlington, VA. A born journalist, she interviewed almost everyone she met. She abounded in creative energy. She taught English at Emory University, Morris Brown College, Georgia State University and Spelman College in Atlanta, as well as at universities in Kingston, RI and Nairobi, Kenya. She published three books on Ted Poston, the journalist. At the time of her death she was working on a biography of South African playwright Richard Rive. She inspired young readers and writers, inscribed multilingual quotations on the walls of her home, and sewed quilts and clothes for her offspring, often while watching C-Span or tennis matches on TV. Married on September 20, 1958, Dr. Hauke is survived by her husband, Dr. Richard Louis Hauke; daughters Katherine Emma Jane DuGarm of St. Paul, MN and Nellie Hauke Ohr of McLean, VA; sons Andrew Martin de Porres Hauke and Henry John LaFarge Hauke, both of North Kingstown, RI; grandchildren H. John, Jaquelyn, Jamison, Julienne and Jessica Hauke, Andrew and Olivia Hauke, and Michael and Richard Ohr; and her sister, Nellie Ann Bush of Manistee, MI. Her body has been donated to the Virginia State Anatomical Program. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in her name to a charity of choice.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 30 from 5:00 ? 7:00 pm and Tuesday, October 1 at 10:00 am at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland. Services will be held on October 1, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Wright and Ferguson Chapel, with burial to follow in the Reflections Garden of Parkway Memorial Cemetery.

Edward was born on June 9, 1943 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. He relocated to Jackson, Mississippi in 1968. He spent 35 years as a respected business owner in the automotive industry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wettach Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Hederman Wettach; sister, Audrey Wettach-Henry and her husband, David Henry; his son Edward Wettach IV, "Eddie" and his wife, Brittany; and his son Webb Collums, his wife Holly, and their daughters Hannah and Emma.

The family would like to thank all of their friends for the support and love that they have shown over the past few months. In lieu of flowers, the family would request that donations be made to either the Hederman Cancer Center or Jackson Academy's 21st Century Learning Initiative.
