3007 | Daniel Paul Gamache was born to Ernie and Aldea (Bechard) Gamache on August 31, 1938. With his family by his side, Dan passed away the afternoon of January 29, 2018 at Cottage in the Meadow, at the age of 79. Dan grew up in Moxee, WA with his siblings, Nancy (Leo) Gangidino, Larry (Gayle) Gamache, Gary Gamache, Linda (Harold) Sliger, David (Chris) John, and Mary Ellen (Larry) Oliver. He graduated from Moxee High School. He had a son, Brad Wallawine from a previous marriage. Brad always held a very special place in Dan?s heart. Dan married Kathleen Champan on October 6, 1962. They lived in the Yakima Valley and raised their four daughters, Cari Gamache, Julie (Lloyd) Maden, Vikki (Randy) Bunce, and Daniele (David) Sharp. Dan was a member of St. Joseph Church in Yakima. He and Kathy were eucharistic and homebound ministers. Dan began working for the Boise Cascade Corporation in 1962 where he worked for 42 years before retiring. During those years he and Kathy owned and operated different businesses around the valley. Dan loved being outdoors, and with his passion for physical fitness, not a day would go by that he wasn?t outside jogging and doing pushups. In his later years when he was no longer able to jog, he enjoyed taking walks with anyone who wanted to join him. Dan and Kathy spent a lot of family vacations with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in Ocean Shores, WA as it was Dan?s favorite place to be. He loved taking morning jogs along the beach and hunting for seashells with his grandchildren. His daughters will always cherish their long walks along the beach with dad and all of the advice he would give. He and Kathy also spent time camping and fishing with their friends at Banks Lake. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the absolute joy of Dan?s life. They visited him daily right up until the time of his passing. His grandchildren Brandi, Luke, Jami, Chelsi, Tayler, David, Jr., Carlos, Cheyanne and great-grandchildren Kassey, Brodi, Kingston, Rylee and Rowdi will miss their Pepe? greatly. Dan is preceded in death by his mother Aldea, father Ernie, step-father, Bill John, brother, Gary, and son, Brad. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on February 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. There will be a gathering of family and friends after mass in St. Joseph?s School gymnasium. A Celebration of Dan?s life will be held this summer in Ocean Shores, WA. A special thanks to Brookside Funeral Home for their kindness and generosity, and a very special thanks to the nurses and staff at Cottage in the Meadow, we will never forget your kindness.
