ALBERT MEW OBITUARY
Albert F. Mew, 91, died at his home in Pierson, Thursday, August 18, 2011 after an extended illness. A native Floridian, he was born in Seville and lived there until he joined the US Navy in 1942. He proudly served his country during World War II and continued with his military career with the Navy for over 20 years. After returning home he also worked as a commercial fisherman. He enjoyed gardening and fishing in his spare time. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Geneice Mew, Pierson; brother, Cleveland "Sonny" Mew, Seville; stepsons, Stan Crow, Seville, Joe (Karen) Strickland, DeLeon Springs, Dale (Jeannine) Strickland, Seville; stepdaughters, Lanie (John) McClendon, Jacksonville, Patricia White, Espanola. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday, August 22 at Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home in Crescent City. Funeral services will begin following the visitation with Reverend Howard Cox officiating. Interment with military honors by the US Navy at the graveside in Pierson Methodist Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the Seville Baptist Fellowship Hall after the service for fellowship. Arrangements are under the careful care of Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home.
